ABOUT
AMERICAN RADIOLABELED CHEMICALS, INC.

Since its inception in 1983, American Radiolabeled Chemicals, Inc. (ARC) has established itself as one of the leading suppliers of high quality radiolabeled and unlabeled chemicals in the world. Our 2020 catalog contains more than 4,000 radiolabeled and unlabeled Amino Acids, Autoradiography Standards, Biological Chemicals, Carbohydrates, Ceramides, Coenzyme A’s, Dioxins, Drugs, Fatty Acids, Glitazones, Inositides, Isoprenoids, Lipids, Neurochemicals, Nucleotides, PCBs, Peptides, Pesticides, Stable Isotopes, Statins, Steroids, Toxins, etc. More than half of the products in our 2023 catalog are exclusively available through ARC. Hopefully, with our wide selection of carbon-14 and tritium labeled products, one-stop shopping will make it more convenient for you to order all your radiolabeled chemicals from ARC.
In August 2008, Sigma-Aldrich stopped selling radiolabeled compounds. As some of you might recall, in 1985 Sigma acquired Pathfinder Labs and entered the field of radiochemical suppliers. Over the years they had developed many unique carbon-14 radiolabeled chemicals, especially a variety of carbon-14 labeled PCBs. ARC has acquired their entire inventory. Former Sigma customers are also encouraged to contact ARC for their radiochemical needs.

In 2009, GE completed the sale of its radiolabeled catalog business to Perkin Elmer and its custom synthesis business to Quotient Amersham Bioresearch. They had previously discontinued selling short-lived isotopes. For over fifty years Amersham has been a leading supplier of radiolabeled compounds in the world. Their departure from this field will leave a big void which is very difficult for any company to fill. Since, then, we have been approached by many researchers from around the world who are asking us to make some of the discontinued GE products. Due to the unavailability of the key intermediates and precursors, it is not possible for ARC to make all of GE’s products. We are attempting to make as many products as we can and we are making every effort to match GE’s specifications. ARC’s catalog already contains over 75% of GE’s radiochemicals. We continue to add more former GE products. We strongly urge you to contact ARC for any other products that may be crucial to your research needs.about us

We are also expanding our “cold” chemical listings. Due to our small size, we are very flexible and are willing to make new products even though they may not be very popular and used only by a few researchers.

We continue to expand our iodination services and now offer a wide variety of iodinated peptides, many of which are outlined on the inside of the back cover.

In addition to catalog items, ARC offers a wide range of custom synthesis services using Carbon-14 and tritium. On a limited basis, ARC offers custom synthesis using 35S, 32P, 33P, and 125I. ARC also offers custom synthesis of products labeled with stable isotopes as well as unlabeled chemicals.

ARC is currently expanding its production facilities and hopes to be able to offer radiolabeled and unlabeled custom synthesis under GLP and GMP conditions in the near future.

Whereas the United States is the world’s biggest market for radiochemicals, more than 45% of ARC’s sales are outside the country. ARC has distributors in 30 countries and its own offices in Canada, India, and the United Kingdom. We also ship directly to many countries where we do not have agents. However, in many cases we are only able to ship to the nearest airport.
